Humankind will be launching in 2020 on PC and Mac.

Humankind is described as a historical strategy game, bringing its own novelty to the recipe. Most notably the game will let us guide our own civilization from its most base state to the modern age. Terrain elevation is also taken into account, something usually rare in strategy games like this. Humankind will have 60 different cultures in total to mix and shape your own civilization. Actual historical events and figures will also be in the game.

Sega first teased Humankind on Twitter in early August with a very short video clip showing a heart rate monitor-like machine. Later, on August 16, an official site with more short teaser videos was revealed. Each showed different things, such as coordinates, or drawings such as pyramids and Eifel tower. Everything makes sense now, as all these were symbols of Humankind‘s advancement, culture or history. Earlier this year, Sega also trademarked “Humankind” which was the “HMKD” part in the teaser website’s URL (hmkd.sega.com).
